Cat insurance among targets of World Bank’s $600mn Philippines loan

The World Bank has signed off a $600mn loan to support developments in the Philippines’ financial sector, and its post-Covid recovery, with one focus, the catastrophe insurance market.

The goals of the financing include greater use of cat insurance, which would let the government focus its resources on the people who need most support.
