Nephila’s “slightly profitable” property cat investing is being offset by its “slightly unprofitable” climate and specialty side, Jeremy Noble, CFO and president of insurance at Markel, said on the firm’s Q4 earnings call today.

Nephila achieved significant rate increases at 1 January, with the expectation that it would continue capitalising on improving pricing throughout the year.
