Hannover Re grows K-Cession sidecar by 85% to $831mn

Hannover Re has expanded its K-Cession sidecar by 85% to $831mn for 2023, as part of overall growth in its retro programme.

The total programme grew by 56% to EUR1.34bn ($1.5bn), from last year’s EUR860mn.

As well as a larger sidecar, it bought more whole of account excess of loss (XoL) coverage, which had grown 40% to EUR387mn.
