RenRe’s Medici cat bond fund tops $1.5bn as third-party income rises

RenaissanceRe said its Medici cat bond fund surpassed $1.5bn in assets after the end of Q1, as income delivered to third-party investors soared year on year due to improved investment and underwriting results.

Third-party AuM/fundraising: The reinsurer said it raised $621.2mn of third-party capital during Q1, which had risen by more than $200mn from the 1 January intakes of $403mn previously reported by the carrier.
