Karen Clark & Co (KCC) has estimated that the severe convective storm (SCS) event that struck central and southern US states in mid-June will cost the industry $5.5bn.

The prolonged severe weather system from 10- 19 June mainly struck Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi and Georgia, although 25 states were impacted in some way.
