H1 saw ‘record’ $9.2bn in limit from 41 cat bonds: GC

The first half of 2023 was a record for catastrophe bonds, according to Guy Carpenter, with 41 different cat bonds brought to the 144A market for approximately $9.2bn in limit placed by 30 June.

This takes the total outstanding notional amount to more than $37.8bn – far more than the total $9.3bn in limit placed for the full year 2022.
