Global H1 insured nat cat losses exceed 10-year average at $43bn: Munich Re

Global insured nat cat losses during H1 amounted to $43bn, comfortably exceeding a 10-year average of $34bn, according to a Munich Re report that also shows the impact of the June Texas storms.

The reinsurer’s H1 nat cat report found that total economic losses were $110bn – lower than 2022’s H1 total of $120bn, but also 12% higher than the 10-year average of $98bn for this half-year period.
