Ledger Investing CEO Samir Shah has said he believes conditions in the casualty ILS segment are currently right for “lots of alpha to be created”, and that the casualty class of ILS has no unique features which breed irregular activity.

He was speaking as fallout from the Vesttoo letters of credit (LOCs) scandal continued, with the board at the InsurTech ILS platform revealing it was considering removing CEO Yaniv Bertele and CFO Alon Lifshitz from their positions.
