HCI Group increased premiums ceded for reinsurance by 18% to $66.4mn in Q2, or 36.5% of gross premiums earned.

This compared with $56.2mn premiums ceded in Q2 2022, or 31% of gross premiums earned.

Loss and loss-adjustment expenses decreased to $61.9mn,
