Hawaiian wildfires could be second-largest total insured loss in state’s history: KCC

The Hawaiian wildfires could result in the second-largest total insured loss in the state’s history, second only to the loss from Hurricane Iniki, based on today's property value, according to Karen Clark & Company (KCC).

Iniki would cost $3.3bn if it recurred, BMS has estimated.

KCC has estimated the total number of buildings within the fire perimeter at about 3,500 – much higher than the official report's indication that 1,700 structures have been burned...
