RMS anticipates $4bn-$6bn economic losses from Hawaii wildfires

Moody’s RMS has estimated that the Hawaii wildfires will incur $4bn-$6bn of economic losses, of which approximately 75% or more will be covered by insurance.

The agency stressed that wildfire is a covered peril under typical insurance policies, and the island has high insurance penetration rates.
