Guy Carpenter has estimated that the recent wildfires that destroyed much of Lahaina could result in insured losses of between $4bn and $6bn.

The wildfires, which were concentrated in the residential and tourist town of Lahaina, also damaged much of West Maui and Kula, a residential area further inland.
