‘Rapid weakening’ for Hurricane Lidia after Cat 4 Mexico landfall

Hurricane Lidia is expected to experience “rapid weakening” as it passes across Mexico, after making landfall as a Category 4 hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The hurricane made landfall around 23:50 UTC near Las Penitas in the state of Jalisco in west central Mexico.
