Moody’s downgrades Nationwide’s IFS ratings to A2

Moody’s Investor Services has downgraded the insurance financial strength (IFS) ratings of Nationwide and its P&C affiliates from A1 to A2.

The agency has also downgraded the carrier’s surplus notes rating from A3 to Baa1, while affirming the IFS rating of A1 for Nationwide’s life businesses.
