Risk modeling firm Moody’s RMS has estimated insured losses from Hurricane Otis to be between $2.5bn and $4.5bn.

The forecast reflects property damage and BI losses to residential, commercial, industrial and automobile lines of business.

The estimate additionally considers potential for post-event loss amplification, inflationary trends and non-modeled sources of loss, including infrastructure damage.
