Natural catastrophe insured losses are set to reach $100bn in 2023, for the fourth year, as hard market conditions are expected the continue into 2024 at least, according to Swiss Re’s latest Sigma report.

In its insurance market outlook for 2024 to 2025, Swiss Re said economic growth slowdown and elevated geopolitical uncertainty dampen the outlook for the primary insurance industry.
