Losses from floods in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy in May could total EUR509mn ($555mn), according to Perils – a 4% increase on its loss estimate in August.
Perils estimated the loss at EU377mn six weeks after the event and at EUR488mn three months after.
The central Italian region was struck by heavy rain and flooding in May following a prolonged period of drought.
