Start-up CatX has raised $2.7mn in seed funding as it seeks to “bridge the supply-and-demand gap in the reinsurance sector”.

The InsurTech’s digital-market platform, designed to facilitate alternative capital flow into insurance, said the sector is facing a “critical challenge” due to a shortage in reinsurance capital.
