Citizens seeks $5.5bn in private market reinsurance for 2024

Citizens is looking to buy up to $5.5bn in traditional reinsurance and capital markets protection for 2024, up 2.23% from last year’s $5.38bn.

According to the last-resort insurer’s 2024 budget, Citizens will look to buy $5.5bn in reinsurance coverage, the majority of which will kick in above the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (FHCF).
