HCI Group subsidiary TypTap hits $1bn premium as Citizens depop picks up pace

HCI Group subsidiary TypTap has assumed approximately $30mn of in-force premium from Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Florida’s state-backed insurance company, to surpass $1bn of total premium.

“This [milestone of $1bn premium] is a tremendous accomplishment, as the company started 2023 with less than $740mn of in-force premium,” said Paresh Patel, HCI’s chairman and CEO.
