Moody’s RMS pegs Japan earthquake losses at $3bn-$6bn

Moody’s RMS has estimated that the total insured losses from the Noto Peninsula earthquake in Japan will range between JPY¥435bn and ¥870bn ($3bn-$6bn).

A 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Noto Peninsula in Japan on New Year’s Day, causing heavy damage in the Ishikawa prefecture, particularly the city of Wajima.
